The Old Cuban was invented by Saunders in 2001, and quickly made its way into bar books across America. Like all great classic cocktails, the recipe is deceptively simple, requiring just rum, sparkling wine, lime, mint and bitters.&nbsp;Bartender Tip:The construction of the cocktail is easy, you have to take into account only one detail, mix the 5 ingredients first and the champagne at the end.

Prepare your mint leaves and lime ready for squeezing

Fill both your glass and shaker with cubed ice

Add all the ingredients and the 5 mint leaves excluding the champagne into your shaker

Close the shaker and shake hard for 7 seconds

Empty the ice in your coupe glass back into the ice bucket. Take off the small top off the shaker and fine strain out the mix into your glass.
