The first Smash Cocktail was a twist on a Mint Julep, and is first named in 1888 by a barman called Harry Johnson. He opened the first ever consulting agency for bar management, and he has been called the father of professional bartending.

The Jack Apple Smash is also very good with Jack Daniel s Old No.7 if you want a cocktail with more whiskey flavor. In this recipe the cloudy apple juice gives a richer flavour then the clear apple juice.
