La Semana del Negroni

El Negroni es uno de los cócteles más icónicos del mundo y se cree que se originó en Florencia, Italia, después de que un conde le ordenara al barman que pusiera ginebra en su Americano en lugar de agua con gas.

Celebrating the Negroni week.

The Negroni is one of the most iconic cocktails in the world and believed to have originated in Florence, Italy after a Count ordered the barman to put gin in his Americano instead of soda water.

Today, the Negroni Cocktail is often served as an aperitif and comes with a tasteful punch of bitter flavors and orange aromas from the orange zest.

There are no complications with a Negroni, 3 equal measures of the liquids, 1 orange zest to be squeezed, and garnished. Stirred in the glass or in the mixing glass, the process is not complicated at all and could perhaps be considered as one of the simplest cocktails to be mixed at home.

Simple rules should be followed. A tumbler glass, plenty of ice, and time enough to stir it thoroughly bringing it to the right temperature and dilution. Using a huge ice block or ball will slow the dilution, keep the cocktail chilled, and looks great for Social Media!

Quenched has published the recipe on its software and want you to enjoy the drink yourself. Follow the recipe and serve this iconic cocktail this weekend!

You may also try one of the famous Negroni twists below. Like switching the Gin for Bourbon to make a Boulevardier or switch it for Prosecco to make a Negroni Sbagliato, a lighter and sweeter version.

Cheers!

Note: Since 2013, the Campari and Imbibe magazine has celebrated the Negroni cocktail by arranging the “Negroni week”. The aim is to raise money for charities around the world. To this date, the fundraising has until now raised more than $ 3 million. This year, due to the Covid-19 situation, it´s gone digital.
